Easter Menu

Happy belated Easter to everyone. We had a busy day yesterday so I did not get a chance to post. My dad came over from Ohio for the weekend. We had a nice time and I made a small Easter meal for the four of us. I thought I would share the recipes because everything came out so wonderful. Don’t mind my presentation…I am not into that at all. Have you checked out allrecipes.com? If you haven’t it is a gold mine of yummy recipes. That is where I have gotten most of my recent 5 star recipes from.

1. Green Beans: I took Steamfresh premium select green beans and microwaved them according to package. Then I sauteed them with equal parts of Newman’s Own Parmesan & Roasted Garlic Dressing and butter. Then I added slivered almonds. I HATE VEGGIES WITH PASSION, but these were actually tolerable. My husband scarfed them up like they were candy.

2. Honey-Glazed Ham – I used this recipe from allrecipes.com. I actually made mine in the crockpot and used 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup of honey like others suggested. Out of this world! I was a generous baster and scored the ham and put cloves in also. Even Tim, who isn’t a ham-eater loved it.

3. Homemade Rolls from the Breadmaker – I put the following ingredients in the breadmaker in this order: 1 tbl yeast, 4 cups of flour, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup scalded milk (I microwave it for 2 minutes), 3 beaten eggs, and 1 stick of softended butter. When the breadmaker goes off I letthe dough sit in the machine for another half hour. Then with floured handed I shape them into balls and bake them at 325 degrees for about 1o-12 minutes. YUMM-O!

4. Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes – Another 5 star recipe from allrecipes.com. I am sorry they don’t look appetizing in the picture. But if you could have tasted them. . .divine! This is the way I am making mashed potatoes from now one. You can make these ahead of time and freeze them also for you freezer meal people.

Here’s my little guy eating it up. He even ate the green beans…good boy!
